Recently, Babar Azam was trapped in a honey trap
after being caught sexting with the girlfriend of another Pakistani cricketer.
On Sunday, Babar gained attention after several
of his leaked private images and audio recordings went viral on social media.
Fans of Babar, on the other hand, claim that the
images and recordings were manipulated in order to harm Pakistan's image.
Babar was previously charged with harassing and
blackmailing a woman named Hamiza Mukhtar.
The woman
had gone to the FIA to report Babar's behaviour. Babar had also been accused of
sexually harassing Hamiza and forcing her to have an abortion.
Meanwhile, according to Pakistani media reports,
the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is planning to remove Babar Azam as Test
captain.
The PCB is reportedly considering naming three
different captains for three different formats.
"The PCB is considering removing Babar Azam from all-format captaincy and appointing separate skippers for all three formats," Geo News reported.
According to sources, the decision to name Shan
Masood as vice-captain for the ODI series against New Zealand was part of the
PCB's strategy to develop new leadership for the future.
On Monday night, Pakistan captain Babar put up a
cryptic tweet on Twitter.
"It doesn't take much to be happy,"
Babar wrote alongside a photo of himself.
In support of Babar, some Pakistani fans also
created hashtags such as #StayStrongBabarAzam and #BehindYouSkipper.
"There is no movement of his lips that clearly shows that video was already edited by someone," one user wrote, "but we know he is humble and will not do these kinds of shameful acts."
"People should stop spreading it if they
have any dignity left in them," another viewer said.
A user on Instagram made a post that appeared to
be focused at Babar, with the caption: "I hope you understand what you
did. Can you not support a woman in her role as a woman? Are you making a fuss
because I'm exposing his real colors? The trash will be exposed. He must
reap what he has sown. Before I kill myself, I will reveal the truth."
Babar has yet to respond to the controversy. He
did, however, take to Twitter on Monday night and post a rather cryptic tweet.
This is not the first time Babar Azam has been
involved in a controversy of this nature. A woman claimed in 2020 that the
Pakistani cricketer promised to marry her and got her pregnant.
"I've known Babar since he was still not
engaged with cricket. He came from a low-income family.
I hope all my sisters and brothers now are going
to support myself and gain justice so that no daughter gets to go through what
I have. Babar and I grew up in the same colony and used to hang out together
"the lady had stated.
"He was a classmate of mine. He proposed to
me in 2010, and I accepted his proposal. He did, in fact, propose to me after
visiting my home. Our understanding improved as time passed.
We planned to marry and informed our families,
but they refused "she added.
Peace if possible, truth at all costs.
